- 3 Oct 2012 9:00 AM
When asked about his meeting with Viktor Orbán, the Slovakian head of government said that the talks were held in a constructive and pragmatic atmosphere, and shed light on the areas of cooperation between the neighbouring states. When countries cooperate, they are more successful in handling the economic crisis, Robert Fico said.
Furthermore, the two Prime Ministers signed a joint statement on building a new bridge over the river Danube between Hungary's Komárom and Slovakia's Komarno. The accord also seeks to develop traffic links between the two countries. At the ceremony, Orban said that the border between Hungary and Slovakia has crossing points every 24 kilometres, but the goal is to reduce this to 7.5 kilometres.
