Hungary's Former PM Bajnai: 2.5mn Voters Needed To Win
Some 2.5-3 million votes are needed for a change of regime, Gordon Bajnai, president of the Homeland and Progress Association, told a forum in Budaörs on Wednesday.

The Socialist Party, which has about 1.2 million voters, will play a decisive part in removing the cabinet, but that will probably not be enough for a change of government and regime, he said, adding that a solution will have to be found for next summer for all to be able to keep their identity and still join forces to unseat the government.

Only after the norms of principle and ethics have been worked out can one decide responsibly to join the movement, to be worked out within weeks, after which a platform will be drafted, he said. Bajnai called for reaching agreement on the directions of progress for at least 25 years, concluding that moderate right wingers will also be required. (MH p.2; mti.hu)
