Hungary's PM Orbán Plans To Close Rural Colleges

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán informed the Fidesz caucus meeting in Gyula Wednesday evening that minor universities and colleges in smaller towns will be phased out, an anonymous MP told HVG.
The announcement caused an outcry among provincial MPs, but Orbán prevented a major debate by promising that he would sit down with them individually and that the municipalities would be compensated somehow.
