Paul Lacourbe, an associate professor of operations management at CEU Business School, was one of the speakers at TEDxDanubia on March 22 in Budapest, Hungary.

Lacourbe’s talk focused on the “New Silk Road,” a railway network that has already cut cargo transport times between China and Germany from five weeks by sea to two weeks by rail, and may one day allow for travel from London to Singapore in just 72 hours.

Lacourbe’s current research and teaching deals primarily with the management of new product innovation and supply chain. He is particularly interested in the psychological aspects in product design and in managing supply chains for East-West trade. His chapter, "The Role of Hungarian Railway on the New Silk Road," appeared in the book, Managing Supply Chains on the Silk Road: Strategy, Performance, and Risk. Lacourbe holds a PhD from INSEAD in France, and he served on the faculty at ESSEC in France before joining CEU Business School.
