She provided the figures as the Hungarian Standing Conference met in Budapest on Tuesday.

President József Berényi of Slovakia’s non-parliamentary Hungarian Coalition Party and several others arrived straight from Brussels, where they had lobbied for action against Slovakia’s Benes decrees.

Berényi said progress had been made in Brussels on that issue and regarding the legal position of ethnic Hungarians stripped of their Slovak citizenship.
