Children's Programmes At Hay Festival In Budapest
Hay Festival was founded in Hay-on-Wye 25 years ago, and it has grown into one of the most significant cultural series of events in the world, with eleven festivals across five continents. On 18 May, Saturday, 9:30 AM, children will be entertained by Petra Finy and Réka Farkasházi and her band in the Central European University.

Petra Finy, one of Hungary’s best loved children’s authors of nine successful children’s books has a programme of music and theatre, A Handful of Bubbles in the CEU Auditorium on 18 May, Saturday, 9:30 AM. On this morning full of fun the children will not only listen to the author read their favourite poems, but Réka Farkasházi and her band who have set some of these poems to music will sing them, too. The programme features storytelling, puppetry, and lots of interaction with the audience.

Petra Finy - pictured above - started writing children’s books after the birth of her older daughter. Réka Farkasházi is an actress and presenter. In 2005 she released her children’s record, Samunadrág, singing Endre Kukorelly’s poems set to music. In 2008, based on András Ferenc Kovács’s volume, Hajnali csillag peremén she made her second children’s record with her band called Samuband.

Tickets for the discussions can be purchased in advance – adults: 600 HUF, pensioners and students: 400 HUF – at the ticket office of PIM (Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum), the Libri bookshops, online at www.PORT.hu, or at the venues, on the day of the programme.
