Pact On New Rail Link To Belgrade From Hungary
- 13 May 2013 9:00 AM
According to the agreement reached by state secretary Péter Szijjártó and Serbian Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic in February, a two-lane track allowing trains to run at trains travelling at up to 160 km/h will be built at an estimated cost of €1.5 billion.
A possible financing source is the China Development Fund for Central Europe, which was set up with available credit of $10 billion.
The upgrade could reduce the train travel time between the two cities from eight hours to three or four.
