Sports Hall To Replace Local Asian Market In Budapest
The Eighth District plans to demolish the local Asian market in order to launch a Ft 4.2 billion construction project to build sports facilities, Népszabadság reports.

The district’s Fidesz mayor on Sunday called on owners the state asset manager MNV and state railway company MÁV to close the Józsefváros market, due to an alleged rise in crime there. The MNV began proceedings to that end on Monday.

The project will create facilities for football, basketball, beach volleyball, and swimming, as well as dance halls, a hostel, a restaurant and a bowling alley

The local council plans to raise 80% of the sum from a loan and aims to open the facility in October 2014.
