Hoffmann Welcomes “New Era” In Hungarian Education System
A new era will begin for the Hungarian education system with the new school year, as the transfer of schools from local councils to the state means that headmasters can again be pedagogical leaders, state secretary Rózsa Hoffmann declared yesterday.

She stressed that the change was made to achieve an identical standard in teaching and education.

Hoffmann appointed 428 headmasters on Wednesday, but 95 schools will begin the school year without a headmaster, Index reports.

The changes affect the role of headmasters, as their task will no longer only be administration or obtaining funds, Hoffmann said, but to make sure that teaching standards in their school are constantly improved.
