Croatia Issues Detention Order For Hungary's MOL Executive Hernádi
- 30 Sep 2013 9:00 AM
Croatian authorities have convicted former prime minister Ivo Sanader of accepting a bribe of €5 million in 2008 to ensure that MOL obtained management control of Croatian energy company INA.
MOL’s general counsel Pál Kara rejected the Croatian move as a threat against MOL and its CEO, calling the accusation of wrongdoing unfounded.
MOL, owner of 49.1% of INA shares, began talks with the Croatian government, owner of a 44.8% stake, on a future strategy for INA on September 18.
