Latest Survey: Most & Least Popular Politicians in Hungary
Foreign Minister Anita Orban is currently the most popular politician in Hungary with an index of 55, the Idea Institute said on Thursday, citing their latest public opinion survey.

According to the survey, conducted early in May, the foreign minister is followed by Istvan Kapitany, the minister of economy and energy, and David Vitezy, the minister of transport and investment, ahead of Prime Minister Peter Magyar with an index of 51.

The report noted that Vitezy's popularity was 6 points higher than before the April 12 election, and added that Zoltan Tarr, the minister of social relations and culture, was the least popular government politician.

They added, however, that even Tarr's popularity was "significantly higher" than the popularity of politicians of the opposition Fidesz party.

While about half of respondents expressed a positive view of Tisza's ministers, "the vast majority does not like the opposition politicians," Idea said.

Fully 62 percent said they had a negative view of former PM Viktor Orbán, and 67 percent said the same concerning János Lázár, the former minister of transport.
