In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasised that MOL is a strong flagship of national industry, adding that “we are proud of it, we appreciate it and if necessary we will protect it”. He underlined that the company’s largest shareholder is the Hungarian State and it is therefore in good hands.
The country has strong ties to MOL due to its ownership, he said, and therefore it cannot abandon the company if its achievements are questioned at home or abroad. Finally, he stated that whoever concludes an alliance with MOL also becomes part of a strong and successful alliance with Hungary. MOL is Hungary’s largest tax contributor and provides a livelihood for 12 thousand people within the country, he added.
The Prime Minister underlined that in the newly forming world order Hungary, instead of compulsively trying to adapt, should take its destiny into its own hands. This is why the Hungarian Government has put the country’s finances in order during recent years and has created an attractive climate for investors, he stated.
The Hungarian Prime Minister highlighted that a tax system that supports investments and work has been established, adding that in the past years the number of people in employment has constantly been on the rise and instead of a society based on subsidies, a society based on work has been created.
