Budapest Typhoon Haiyan Appeal Concert, Becketts, On Saturday 7pm
A fund-raising event will be held in Budapest at Becketts Irish Bar on Saturday at 7:00 P.M., on the 23rd of November 2013, to support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines. The event is organized by Filipinos and other foreign nationals living in Hungary in cooperation with the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid.

The initiator of this event, Marc-Aguido Knüttel, said, "I had to do something. I could not allow myself to stand idly by and do nothing while the country that I love, my countrymen, and my friends suffer. They need to know that even from a distance, we are with them and we can make it through together." .

Proceeds from the event will be channelled through the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid, whose team is already on the ground in Tacloban City giving immediate medical aid to the victims. The fund is intended to contribute to the rehabilitation of the 50-bed Doña Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Hospital, through medicines and equipment. The hospital is the only one that remained standing out of five hospitals in the city. The roof of the 3-story building was blown off and medical equipment was completely destroyed.

During the night there will be performances by seven bands that have volunteered to support the cause. The performers are: Gabi Knoll, Erika Albero, Suba Attila & The SoulFool Band, The Flares, BeTheBest, Cool Colours and Katalin Burns.
