Committee To Look Into Possible US Surveillance In Hungary
- 8 Nov 2013 11:35 AM
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has invited the heads of all parliamentary caucuses for consultations in connection with the issue of possible surveillance of Hungarian leaders by US monitoring agencies. Once the consultations have ended, Fidesz will propose that a parliamentary investigative committee be formed to look into the matter.
Fidesz communications director Máté Kocsis noted during a press conference that Budapest is one of several European capitals believed to be home to a US listening station.
The national security committee held a closed meeting yesterday with representatives of the secret services.
