Create Carpathian Basin Hungarian Network, Says Official

The head of the Prime Minister’s National Strategy Research Institute, Jenő Szász, has proposed creating Hungarian networks in the Carpathian Basin. One idea is to create the conditions for Hungarians in nearabroad and Hungarian organisations in the West to make joint applications for European Union funding.
Szász told journalists that following Hungary’s integration into the EU and NATO, it was now time for a “national integration” to take place.
He added that the future of the Hungarian communities abroad could only be outlined from Budapest since, while it is the case that there are ideas coming out of Bucharest, Bratislava and Kiev as regards Hungarians in their territory, these are against their interests.
