Invitation: Shakespeare Live From London, At Uránia Budapest
Look out for live theatre shows at the Uránia National Film Theatre as they're screening pieces from London's 2013/14 cultural season, live and direct from the National Theatre in London, and from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Audiences in Hungary can watch 12 broadcasts from the UK - ten by Shakespeare, one is Danny Boyle’s critically acclaimed Frankenstein adaptation. Both Hungarian and English subtitles will be available.

On the 27th of December, another comedy by Shakespeare, The Taming of the Shrew is on the programme. In the second part of the season, Shakespearean hits are going to be screened from past seasons: Henry VIII (on the 13th of February), Romeo and Juliet (on the 6th of March), As You Like It (on the 10th of April).

The National Theatre’s screenings open on the 26th of September with Othello’s new production, a fresh, exciting, contemporary adaptation of the well known tragedy. On the 24th of October, Macbeth is going to be screened live.

The title role is going to be played by the excellent Shakespearian actor, Kenneth Branagh, who is one of the directors as well. The most popular piece is likely to be Hamlet (on the 21st of November), and Oscar winner Danny Boyle’s visionary Frankenstein adaptation (on the 12th and 19th of December).

During the rest of the season, further popular titles are going to be broadcast: Tony winner Alan Bennet's The Habit of Art, and Shakespeare’s Coriolanus LIVE, on the 30th of January.
