Crisis Over For Hungary Tourism, Says Varga
- 3 Feb 2014 8:02 AM
The crisis is now behind Hungary’s tourism; all its major indicators have improved and the sector is doing better than in years before the crisis, Economy Minister Mihály Varga said on Saturday.
Varga spoke at a season-opener and tourism award-giving ceremony in Budapest, and said that guest nights in Jan-Nov 2013 were up by nearly 6% compared to 2012, and revenues grew by almost 10% in the same period.
He added that the revenues collected in the first 11 months of last year were higher than the total for 2012, when record high revenues had been posted.
