Hungary’s Left-Wing Renewal In Country’s Interest, Says Fidesz Official
- 7 Feb 2014 8:00 AM
“No matter how badly the Socialists got a beating from Fidesz in 2010, they haven’t found a way, opportunity, time, occasion, capability [since then] ... to change,” Lázár told around one hundred locals.
“There’s nothing new on that side.” Lots of people would vote for a correct social-democratic programme, he said, adding that it was ruling party Fidesz that was filling this gap today.
He cited as examples of this the special taxes on the banks and multinationals, as well as the cuts to household utility bills, which he said would fit well within a social-democratic economic policy.
