Hungary’s Economy Lethargic, Says LMP
Hungary has lagged behind the world’s economic output over the past 25 years, economic spokesman for the opposition LMP party said at a campaign event today. Economist Péter Róna said the April elections would be about restoring the creative powers of Hungarians and putting an end to corrupt deals.

He said the majority of voters know that Hungary is lagging behind, with tens of thousands sleeping on the streets, hundreds of thousands starving and millions sinking into despair while the politicians are feathering their nests.

This government as well as previous ones are lying when they suggest that the country was doing better, he said. The economy had lagged behind the world economy by 21% combined over the past 25 years, he added.
