Israel’s Budapest Embassy Closed Due To Strike
- 25 Mar 2014 8:00 AM
Employees of Israeli embassies, including the Budapest mission, have started a strike for better work conditions, Ambassador Ilan Mor told MTI today. This is the first time Israeli foreign ministry workers and employees of embassies and consulates worldwide have stopped working, he said.
The ambassador said employees want their government to acknowledge the sacrifices they are making in Israeli diplomacy, including working towards ensuring Israel’s security, as well as fighting against extremism and anti-Semitism.
The embassy in Budapest will remain closed until further notice. The diplomats started a partial strike on March 5.
