German President To Pay Official Visit To Hungary
German President Joachim Gauck will pay an official visit to Hungary on June 16, his office told MTI on Tuesday. Gauck will take part in a commemoration of Hungary’s role in the 1989 dismantling of the Iron Curtain in the company of his counterparts of the Visegrad Four countries, a spokesperson for the office said.

The five heads of state will embark on a joint “freedom tour” in June- November to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of communist regimes, according to earlier German press reports.

The presidents’ visit to Budapest will take place on the 25th anniversary of the execution of Imre Nagy, the martyred prime minister of Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet uprising and freedom fight.
