Hungary's Fidesz Determined To Protect National Interests
- 16 Apr 2014 9:00 AM
The protection of Hungarian national interests in the European Union is the main task of Hungarian MEPs, representatives of the ruling Fidesz party in parliament's national cohesion committee said today. Deputy head of the committee, Balázs Hidvéghi, said only Fidesz-Christian Democrats were capable of resolutely representing and protect Hungarian interests in the EU.
"We must protect Hungarians from extremism and strengthen national cohesion" in the EP election, said Hidvéghi, who occupies 14th place on the Fidesz-Christian Democrats' EP list.
Head of the committee János Árpád Potápi, said the Fidesz-Christian Democrats had already collected enough signatures to run in the EP election but this will be officially announced only later.
