Hungary’s Liberals Bow Out Of EP Elections
The leadership of the Liberal Party decided on Wednesday that it will not run in the European Parliament elections, president Gábor Fodor announced.

He explained that although he had repeatedly asked the parties of the left-wing alliance to preserve and possibly broaden their co-operation for the EP elections, they said no.

Fodor said his party respects the fact that their former partners want to go it alone, but he does not like the decision, as the danger persists that Jobbik will be Hungary’s second strongest party in the voting.

In addition, Fodor said, they have no funds to finance their election participation.
