Gov’t Seizes Budapest Gellérthegy Citadel
The Citadel atop Gellért Hill will be sealed off from tourists for at least 15 days, as the government works to seize the property from tenants that it says have no right to be there.

Some 40 police officers went to the Citadel shortly before 8 a.m. Monday and blocked access to it, also keeping tourists away from the sightseeing point, Népszabadság reports.

The state has taken back its asset, the Citadel, state asset manager MNV announced on Monday.

Gastro-Top, operator of a restaurant in the Citadel, will take the matter to court. CEO Mrs. István Magyar said they had a temporary rental agreement with the local district council.
