Hungary’s Ruling Party Fideszs Leads EP Poll
- 14 May 2014 9:00 AM
Ruling party Fidesz is set to receive more than half of the seats in the European Parliament assigned to Hungary, according to a survey by the Nézőpont Institute. Among people declaring themselves certain to vote, 46% backed Fidesz MEP candidates, translating into 11 seats.
Radical nationalist party Jobbik was on level pegging with the Socialists with 15%, meaning 3 seats each. Leftist E-PM and green party LMP both had 10%, or two seats each, while the left-wing Democratic Coalition had the support of 4%, not enough for an EP mandate, based on Nézőpont’s sample.
Fully 44% declared their intention to participate in the European election.
