A giant ferris wheel, the Sziget Eye, has been set up on Budapest’s central Erzsébet Square to promote this year’s summer Sziget festival, the festival’s main organiser, Károly Gerendai, said on Monday. The 65-metre tall structure is open to punters with 41 cabins seating eight each and VIP cabins seating four, Gerendai told a press conference.
A ride on the giant wheel will last around ten minutes.
It will be open from 10 am till midnight from Sunday through to Thursday, and from 10 am till 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The tourist attraction will remain on the square until October.
This year, the Sziget Festival will be held from August 11 to 18 on Óbuda island in the north of Budapest.
