5th Kaposfest, Queen Of Hungary’s Classical Music Festivals Celebrates Its Anniversary
- 10 Jun 2014 9:00 AM
Kaposfest was established in 2010 with the aim of creating an event of international standard for chamber and classical music with a peculiar and unique atmosphere in Southern Hungary’s jewellery box, Kaposvár. The slogan of “freedom of pleasure” allows the organizers to choose freely from the greatest pieces of classical music from the Reneissance to contemporary Hungarian chamber music.
It also enables such artists to play on the stage of Szivárvány Kultúrpalota who can rarely be seen in Hungary or in Eastern Europe. The performing stars are well-known in the most important concert halls of the world and are welcomed in the greatest festivals, too. There have been tens of thousands visitors on the previous festivals so the organizers expect nearly 15.000 enquirers this year as well.
We can find the following artists among the names of this year:
Thomas Dunford, José Gallardo, Sergei Nakariakov, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Katalin Kokas, James Boyd, Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Amadinda Percussion Group, Ferenc Rados, Zoltán Kocsis, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, James Boyd, Marc Coppey, Oleg Kogan, Alina Ibragimova, Alina Pogostkina, Dóra Kokas, Barnabás Kelemen, Roman Kim
During the festival, besides the daily two classical music concerts, those who are interested can take part in Italian and Hungarian thematic days. The Italian Day’s Kaposvár is intended to present the Italian culture from music to gastronomy. The host of the Day of Hungaricums is the Kassai Horse Farm where Lajos Kassai, a hungaricum himself, entertains the visitors. Among the supplementary programmes one can find exhibitions of the Vaszary Gallery, pop music concerts and culinary tours.
The programme of Kaposfest can already be read on the homepage of the festival and tickets are also available.
