Daimler To Make New Compact Car Exclusively At Plant In C Hungary

Mercedes-Benz Chairman Dieter Zetsche said that the division would introduce the CLA Shooting Brake at the end of the year and begin selling the car early in 2015.
Zetsche noted that Mercedes-Benz sold 173,318 compact models globally in the first four months of the year, up 24.5% year-on-year. The company said late May it plans to produce 145,000 cars at the Kecskemét plant this year.
Mercedes-Benz had revenue of 2.1 billion euros at its factory in Kecskemet in 2013, up from 900,000 euros in 2012, the year the company began production at the 800 million-euro plant. Mercedes-Benz currently employs 3,500 workers at the plant, up from 3,200 at the end of 2013.
