Philip Pickett’s versatile New London Consort is one of today’s leading early music ensembles, which draws from the uniquely wide and colourful range of Renaissance and Baroque music for its repertoire. New London Consort is the most well-known and renowned group of this genre today.
Authentic rendering and entertainment finely alloys in the arrangement of their programs. Besides Bach and Vivaldi, the compositions of Monteverdi and Biber are on the top of the group’s repertoire as well. As a royal organist and composer, Purcell wrote numerous pieces at the request and also to the honour of James II and his daughter, Mary.
