Richard Vaughan is currently the Primary Head Teacher in the British International School , Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He previously taught in six different UK primary schools, working for four Local Authorities - Birmingham, Solihull, Staffordshire and the Wirral. He has been Headteacher of two UK primary schools with BIS being his first international appointment.
Recently the School was delighted that its future Principal, Mr Richard Vaughan, was able to join the School for a week, to introduce himself to Primary and Secondary and begin meeting parents, students and staff. School assemblies, classroom visits and an evening reception provided valuable opportunities for the School community to interact with Mr Vaughan, and begin the familiarisation process.
At the end of the week Mr Vaughan said, “Following my interview for Britannica last month it has been a great privilege to return this week to formally meet and greet the School community. During my time here I have had the opportunity to engage with students, staff and parents. I feel very honoured at the reception that I have had and very much look forward to returning in August to work with you all.
Lasting memories of this week have been the smiles and friendly greetings of the children in and around the corridors and classrooms. He continued: “Clearly a community of learners that take a pride in the School they attend and are enjoying the richness of the experiences on offer. I will be sharing these encouraging observations with my own two children who are also looking forward to joining the School with me. It was equally delightful to attend the reception for parents and staff on the terrace by the club area.
The truly amazing views across the beautiful city of Budapest, which were a backdrop for this event, were something I will not forget. I would like to thank everyone for their hospitality this week. I would especially like to thank Mr Ken Baines for his leadership of the School over the past four and a half years in which it has clearly grown from strength to strength.
Furthermore his final words to the School: “I look forward to returning to begin my role as the new Principal of Britannica International School and taking this already thriving learning community forward into its next phase of development.”
The entire Britannica community warmly welcomes the Principal and looks forward to continuing the next period of the ‘learning journey’ for Britannica International School with him.
