Hungarian Men’s EC Squad Confirmed
Coach Tibor Benedek changed one spot on the roster of the Dubai World League runner-up team. He announced the Hungarian squad for the Euro Champs – to be hosted by Budapest from Monday 14 July.

Here is the list of the 13 selected players:

Goalkeepers: Vikor Nagy, Attila Decker

Fielders: Ádám Decker, Balázs Erdélyi, Miklós Gór-Nagy, Balázs Hárai, Norbert Hosnyányszky, Norbert Madaras, Márton Szivós, Márton Tóth, Márton Vámos, Dániel Varga, Dénes Varga

One change has been made since the World League: Ádám Decker, last year’s world champion giant took back his spot from Dániel Angyal as one of the defensive specialists. ‘I was absolutely satisfied with Dániel’s play in Dubai, but I believe the team will be even stronger with Ádám’ - Tibor Benedek commented his decision.

One member of the training squad, Gábor Kovács leaves the team on Friday, as the other players who just have been dropped continue practices with the team until Wednesday, 2nd July. This is when the national team leaves Budapest, to play matches at a practice tournament in Düsseldorf. Then, until the EC, only the selected players will practice.

Benedek told he’s fortunate not having such problems like one year ago, when a whole country was hoping Dániel Varga would get healthy after his finger injury, but each players of the initial squad will be ready in case of any problem. However, the coach expects his team to don’t have any, and ‘keep on improving in all aspects’.
