Mayor Tarlós: Budapest Needs Leadership & Development
- 23 Sep 2014 9:00 AM
Tarlós, the candidate of the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance seeking re-election, told commercial Lánchíd Rádió that the left’s candidate called for an upgrade of the Acquincum towers, which has already been done.
The opposition candidate also promised to wipe out corruption in Budapest, while the whole city was mired in corruption scandals when the now opposition political community had been in power, Tarlós said.
Tarlós, serving as mayor since 2010, said in the past four years no corruption scandal had erupted in the City Hall and all of the contracts of the municipality and its companies had been posted online.
In response to the opposition’s claim that the assets of Budapest “had been taken away” Tarlós insisted that parliament had adopted a legislation for putting health services and hospitals into state management across Hungary.
