State hospitals in Hungary will not be allowed to offer private services, the state secretary for health care said on Wednesday. Gábor Zombor told a conference that the government had decided that state and private services must be separated in health care and the national health fund will not support private services.
He confirmed that a planned reform of health care will focus on serving the public.
Basic services will be strengthened and prevention programmes expanded to address diseases that affect much of the population.
