Hungary's Newly Appointed Foreign Affairs&Trade Minister Promises Sweeping Changes
Newly appointed Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó promised to bolster cultural and external economic relations, reduce personnel at the ministry and replace most of Hungary’s ambassadors during his introductory press conference on Wednesday.

At home, new administrative state secretary Balázs Kohut will terminate the state of affairs in which 400 in a ministry of 900 personnel concern themselves with operational matters.

Three-fourths of Hungary’s ambassadors will be replaced in the next 12 months, Szijjártó added, while the number of economic attachés will rise from the present 81 to 136.
