Hungary’s Govt Control Office KEHI Lodged Complaint To Police After Norway Grant Probe
Hungary’s government control office (Kehi) lodged a complaint with police in connection with its investigation of the disbursal of funds from the Norway Grants on Monday, the office told MTI, confirming a report in today’s daily Magyar Nemzet.

The office reported suspected fraud against an unidentified perpetrator concerning the use of funding in Hungary provided by the Norwegian Civil Fund, the paper reported.

It told MTI it had initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of repeated fraud, having found that employees and leaders of a consortium led by one of NGOs responsible for disbursing funding, the Ökotárs Foundation, had broken conflict of interest rules when distributing funds.

Further, those participating in the evaluation of bids for funding were in the sphere of interested parties that received the support, it added.
