- 10 Nov 2014 12:45 AM
Vác FC lost their previous game in the last 16 of the Hungarian Cup on Wednesday, against Kisvárda FC 4-0, so the Vác FC fans were desperate for a victory. After all, promotion is top priority for the club and everyone at the stadium was hoping Vác could increase their lead at the top of the NB3 central championship.
The visitors played defensive football, there were 10 players behind the ball at all times and playing on the break.
Vác FC controled the game but unfortunately created no clear cut chances against a solid defensive wall. However, Greff Adam hit the post after 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, Fábri Tamás scored a goal at the end of the first half, but the referee disallowed it, however it was clear for all to see, it was not off-side and a clear goal.
Coach Csank sent Gergely Kovács on to the pitch for the second half replacing Greff Ádám, in order to increase the intensity and add options to the Vác attack.
The home team kept pressurising and created some chances which hit the wood work twice.
The referee had a bad game. He refused Vác two penalties which looked like stone wallers. Plus, due to a lack of concentration, Gyulai FC broke the deadlock in the 70th minute (0:1)
Vác FC piled on the pressure, attack after attack. They struggled but got a free kick just outside the box, Gulyás Gábor scored in the 87th minute (1:1)
In the remaining few minutes, Vác fought hard to win the game, goal line clearances, posts, bars but nothing would give.
The game ended in a one-all draw.
In the championship, Vác Fc are now leading by 6 points after 12 matches, Monor are the closest team in 2nd place, these two teams meet this coming Saturday in a top of the table clash.
