German Chancellor Merkel Coming To Hungary Next Monday – Official
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will come to Budapest on Monday, February 2, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert confirmed in Berlin on Wednesday.

Merkel and her host Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will discuss bilateral and EU political subjects, current developments in Hungary and the Ukrainian situation.

Sources close to the cabinet say the German chancellor will hold three hours of talks with Orbán, followed by an international press conference.

They may discuss a suggestion made by Merkel last week whereby Russia could be part of a free trade zone with the EU if the conflict in Ukraine is resolved peacefully, according to news website Origo.
