Hungary Donates Water Purifying Equipment To Floodhit Albania
- 19 Feb 2015 8:00 AM
Hungary will install a piece of water purification equipment in a floodstricken region of Albania, István Mikola, a foreign ministry state secretary, said. The machine will ensure supplying drinking water to 66,000 residents a day.
It will be donated by the foreign ministry, the national disaster management authority and the municipal water works.
Hungary will also send an eight-member team to operate the equipment, Mikola said.
The floods were triggered by melting snow in the north and heavy rainfall in the south. So far up to 700 families have been evacuated, he said.
