Hungary’s First Lady & Maltese Charity Appeal To Help Transcarpathian Community
First Lady Anita Herczegh and the head of the Hungarian Maltese Charity have appealed to Hungarian organisations around the world, asking them to help the people of western Ukraine, including ethnic Hungarians, affected by economic problems. In a letter addressed to all Hungarians, the First Lady and Imre Kozma said that rapid inflation in Ukraine put intolerable burdens on locals.

They stressed the need to help the Hungarian community and other ethnic groups so that they should not be forced to leave their native land, the president’s office said.

They have also written to US Ambassador Colleen Bell and Ukrainian charge d’affaires Mykhailo Yunher asking them to monitor the initiative and possibly help getting the donations to those in need.
