Report Says Humgary's PM Orbán Informed In 1981
Viktor Orbán reported to military counter-intelligence in 1981-82, the weekly HVG reports, although it does not reproduce documents to support the claim. HVG writes that Orbán established a “social relationship” with military counter-intelligence officer Mihály Major on October 20, 1981, which lasted until his discharge from the army in August 1982.

These so-called “social links” played a special role in state security networks, ATV adds. These were generally people who helped the organisation, were seen as good sources of information, but who were not suitable to be agents.

Social contacts gave oral reports that were noted down by the officer, who reported them to his superiors.

Major now lives in Zalaegerszeg, but refuses to speak to reporters.
