Brussels Agreement “Milestone” For Hungary
The agreement between Hungary, Russia and the European Union on fuel supplies for the Paks nuclear power plant is a milestone in the government’s efforts to make electricity cheaper, cabinet chief János Lázár told a press conference. He said the consent of Brussels is proof that the European Commission is not concerned about whether or not new blocks are added to the Paks plant but about the process by which those blocks are added.

Lázár said the government is about to make a decision on which foreign managers it will appoint to head the Paks 1 project. In May it will decide on who will be in charge of Paks 2, he added.

The cabinet chief did not rule out bringing in western European experts to head the project.
