Opposition Demands Names In Quaestor Case
The leftist opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) has called on the chief public prosecutor and the central bank governor to name politicians who invested funds in the bankrupt brokerage firm Quaestor. DK spokesman Zsolt Gréczy - pictured - insisted that politicians of ruling Fidesz and government members may have eased Quaestor into investments and received a commission in return.

Nóra Hajdu, board member of the opposition Együtt, said her party wants information from the foreign ministry about who had instructed Quaestor to return public funds and in what way.

The ministry has so far failed to provide clear information how “companies owned by pals” had been helped to a position to manage such funds, she said, insisting that the foreign ministry was being loyal to the ruling parties rather than working for the public good.

She said that Péter Szijjártó, the minister, was not suitable for his position and demanded that he should be dismissed.
