PM Promises Help To Arrange Hazardous Waste Disposal In Budapest
- 30 Apr 2015 9:00 AM
After attending a local event, Orbán was stopped by an opposition Együtt councillor for the 9th district who was holding a sign referring to the hazardous waste at Illatos Road. Krisztina Baranyi asked Orbán to make arrangements to clean up the environmental pollution.
The farm ministry said later in the day that it would ask for 1.18 billion forints (EUR 4m) to be released to manage the waste disposal at the site of the former state chemical works privatised in 1993.
The company which owned the site has been under liquidation since 2007. Its main products included sulphuric acid, pesticides, artificial fertilizers and chlorides among others.
