Hungarian Swimmer Hosszú Rejects Doping Accusations
World and European swimming champion Katinka Hosszú called a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday to reject accusations of doping levelled at her. “I have never taken any performance-enhancing agents, and I fully believe there is no money, fame, or victory for which I would sell my soul,” Hosszú told reporters.

Last week retired Canadian swimmer Casey Barrett suggested in a blog post on the website of Swimming World magazine that Hosszú may have been taking performance-enhancing substances.

He acknowledged in the article that he has no proof, but observed that Hosszú recovers conspicuously fast from swimming races, often competing in more than one event on the same day.

Hosszú said she will sue both Swimming World and Barrett.
