Budapest is central and eastern Europe’s third most attractive destination in a world list MasterCard prepares annually based on an estimated number of visitors. According to the list, the Hungarian capital is number 16 in Europe while in CEE it follows Vienna and Prague. Budapest is estimated to have some 3.2 million foreign visitors this year, up 1.3 percent from last year, ahead of Brussels, Zurich or Moscow. In a global comparison, Budapest was in 41st place out of 132 cities.
