COE Parliamentary Assembly To Discuss Hungary Report
- 23 Jun 2015 9:00 AM
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (CoE) will discuss a report concerning the rule of law in Hungary, on Wednesday. The report was compiled by British Conservative MP Robert Walter, two years after the assembly voted down a monitoring procedure but decided to closely watch developments in Hungary.
The report welcomes measures Hungary has taken in the past two years, but warns that the country has not followed up on all the assembly’s recommendations, and calls on Hungary to continue a dialogue with the CoE to resolve issues that are still open.
The CoE Parliamentary Assembly meets each quarter for a week-long session.
