First Of Budapest’s New Trolley Bus Fleet Arrives To The Capital
The Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) has published images of the first Solaris-Skoda trolley bus that has arrived to the capital, which will be followed by a fleet of further 20 single-unit and 16 articulated vehicles to serve District XIV and the city centre. The increased number of low-floor vehicles is meant to improve accessibility on the routes, BKK writes.

All vehicles will be air-conditioned, with the single-unit version having a passenger capacity of 64 and the articulated buses able to carry 104 people at once.

Thanks to the batteries installed in the buses, they will be able to run 4 kilometres without an external power supply, meaning that possible power cuts, stretches of route without an electricity cable running above or diversion of the route will not cause problems in operation.
