- 19 Jun 2015 9:00 AM
Hungary’s plan to stop immigrants from entering the country by building a fence along its southern borders is “ill-advised”, the human rights commissioner of the Council of Europe said in a microblog entry. Nils Muižnieks said that “focus should be on ensuring access to asylum, not impeding it”. Hungary announced on Wednesday preparations for a 4 metre high fence along a 175 kilometre section of its border with Serbia.
