Hungarian and Serbian police chiefs met on Monday and agreed to take joint steps against illegal migration. Under the agreement, four mobile thermal cameras will be installed on the Serbian side of the joint border and twenty new police officers will go on duty on the Serbian-Macedonian border, Károly Papp, Hungary’s police chief, said after meeting his Serbian counterpart Milorad Veljovi ć in Szeged, in southern Hungary. In an effort to curb human trafficking, Hungarian, Serbian and Austrian police will set up a joint investigator team, Lieutenant-General Papp said.
The Hungarian government announced preparations last week for a 4-metre high fence along a 175-kilometre section of its border with Serbia.
