Hungary’s PM: Protecting Greek Borders Is Top Of The Agenda

"If they do not support us in this effort, they should state clearly that the Schengen Agreement is no longer binding, and we should then organise a corridor through which migrants may reach Austria or Germany”, the Prime Minister stressed.
In answer to a journalist’s question as to whether he blames Germany for the migrant flood, the Prime Minister said: this is out of the question; I never blamed anyone, Germany least of all.
"We must cooperate with the Germans. They are in a difficult situation. We must understand this”, Mr Orbán emphasised.
In his statement made in English, the Prime Minister made it clear that Hungary is not closing the borders but only the green borders, and those who wish to enter Hungary may lawfully do so at the border crossing stations.
Mr Orbán also pointed out that the observance of the Schengen Agreement and the protection of the external borders is not a question of will but a legal obligation.
"If we fail to follow the rules, the whole of the European Union will sink into a state of chaos. We must observe the rules, and must restore law and order”, the Prime Minister reiterated.
